Calcium D-glucarate is made by combining glucaric acid with calcium. Calcium is added to glucaric acid to stabilize but once in the body, it separates to calcium and glucaric acid, which is the active ingredient that provides the most benefits. This is not a substantial source of calcium and will not replace the need for a calcium supplement.
D-glucarate and glucaric acid is a phytochemical that supports detoxification and is found naturally in many plants, including cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, kale and bok choy. It is especially helpful in the elimination of excess hormones, namely estrogen, which may have an effect on people that need to better balance the different types of estrogens in the body.
