In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study from 2014, 114 women aged 45-65 years were randomized to receive 2.5 g of a collagen peptide supplementation or placebo daily for eight weeks. Eye wrinkles were visibly and significantly reduced in the group given collagen (p<0.05) at 4 weeks and 8 weeks. Researchers also detected a significantly higher content of elastin and type 1 procollagen in the women given collagen.
