Material Name(s):Manganese Bisglycinate as a source of Manganese and Glycinate
Manganese is a trace mineral and an essential nutrient. While the body is able to store a small amount, more is required from dietary sources. The main sources of manganese include shellfish, hazelnuts, pecans and brown rice. It is also found in other whole grains and legumes.
Evidence in humans suggests that manganese deficiency might cause bone loss and poor growth in children, skin rashes, grey hair, low levels of beneficial cholesterol, and altered mood and increased premenstrual pain in women, though deficiency is rare. Manganese is important in forming key biological metalloproteases that assist in numerous metabolic reactions.
