The effect of green tea polyphenols on skin properties has been established in cell culture and animal models. This study looked to evaluate the benefits of green tea polyphenols in modulating the skin properties of healthy female volunteers. The results of this study show that skin structural characteristics, including skin elasticity, roughness, scaling, density and water homeostasis were positively impacted by the consumption of green tea catechins, compared to the control group.
