This prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial from 2019 included 46 participants with active mild to moderate ulcerative colitis. Results found 2000 mg/day ginger supplementation can “improve disease severity index and oxidative stress.” Further symptoms such as intestinal gas, bloating and abdominal pain decreased after taking ginger.
