A vegan and high dose form of the Omega 3 fatty acid DHA
Pre-converted form for superior efficacy
Supports healthy brain, eyes and nerve development
Ideal for women avoiding seafood during pregnancy
DHA and EPA are the two main types of Omega-3 fatty acids needed for health and perform different functions in the body. Through biochemical reactions, both can be made from an abundant supply of omega 3s but, of the two, DHA is harder for body to create. This makes regular DHA intake essential for maintaining high levels of the fatty acid in the body as DHA promotes healthy brain, eyes and neurological development.
Since fish based supplements are the readily available sources of DHA, vegans/vegetarians have had to rely on plant sources to obtain the benefits. One of the problems with obtaining DHA from plant-based sources is that the body is inefficient at converting the precursors of DHA into DHA. The good news is that a new vegan source of DHA has been identified: namely, marine algae. AOR’s Vsoftgel DHA contains high dose algal-sourced DHA from schizochytrium oil, packaged neatly in a vegan softgel, for those who prefer non-animal sources.
The docosahexanoic acid in DHA helps to support the normal function of the eye and brain. DHA is formulated as a softgel, providing greater absorption for this fat-soluble nutrient.*
